In this book and Artwork series Don Hill’s Art heads into the Psyche of the Deep North in far away Far North Queensland and beyond. Unknown Territory. Up here it is an abandonment of rational thinking with the uptake on what maybe described as eccentric or “Troppo’. Overall it describes the realities of his life and touches on fantasies of the far North as he stumbles on, in his favorite place on Earth. His Shambhala. During this sojourn he uses an old resurrected Tinny that he obtained for free as well as an outdated Evinrude outboard to island hop. These three can only be described as f’d. Both the tinny and outboard of which had seen many days that were better than today still worked and as he put it. “Does the Job quite well.’ “As long as you have all the safety gear that’s all that matters.’ “Just go and get it serviced or you will be in the Shit.’ “Check everything is running but don't go out in bad weather.’ “And last but not least don’t fall overboard.’ Good luck with that. He still had the antique oars that came with the tinny of which one was broken by the lawn mower man at his mothers house when he ran into it with ride on mower. Don conceded it was worth repairing even though it was more than fifty years old. “I still love that oar.’ The Ride on Mower Man ran into it and left blood stains all over the Paddle end but never admitted to it. “I knew it was him as there was heavy breathing and muted swearing on the voice mail recorder that day at home on the phone.’ “It’s repaired now but I won’t take it on my journey.’ “It’s just a spare from now on.’ “I’ve filled the Aft and the Stern with foam in case of any possible swamping and as always take a good sized bucket.’ “Probably two.’ “This is good for bailing when swamped or if you are Sea Sick Chundering which with my idea is just better to do it over the side unless the wind is blowing the wrong way.’ With each new adventure a new work is created and arrives. Being recorded in paint or words. Paint and Words. Is it Shambhala or Shambles. No one knows exactly what is happening but you can see them scratching their heads as they see him firing up that thing and getting ready to go. The Shambles of Shambala. If he is ever looking for a name for his boat we can advise him what to call it. “Could be a new Title.’ he says as he walks away back turned to everyone towards the Tinny waiting for him at the beach and onward to Dunk.
