I
don't know whether you would call this the Cutting Edge but I tend to go through
a lot of hand saws which is just part of the process. I have thought of using
electric devices to do the cut but even though I posess one I have found them
on the dangerous side because of the amount of cutting that I do. Finding the
media is a bit daunting when it comes to locating groves of bamboo that can
actually be collected and utilized without upseting anyone. Then comes the painting
and the placing togeather of the final composistion before stablizing it. Bamboo
is a great source of inspiration as it is a totally renewable resource that
grows really fast, is easy to cut and transport, can be eaten, is used in medicene
and is a brilliant resource when it comes to building. Depending on the climate
the growth of bamboo can be extremly rapid up to a metre per day and depending
on the species a complete house can be built out this giant grass after a growth
period of about five years.
Check
out this link below. This is Durnford Dart's Site. He is the Mr Bamboo of Queensland
importing the stuff for use as flooring and growing just about every known species
of this genus.
